Sacha Inchi oil is cold-pressed from the raw Sacha Inchi seeds. It is lighter than olive oil and has a nuttier flavor. It can be used in much the same way as olive oil. Sacha Inchi oil was rewarded a gold medal at the World Edible Oils competition in 2007.

Note: Other than sites that are selling Sacha Inchi oil, there is not a lot of information available on this new miracle health food. I do intend to try it, but I remain skeptical of the health benefit claims.
Something else I learned: There is a World Edible Oils competition.
Wait till Dr. Oz gets hold of this one!
ReplyDeleteI bought sacha inchi oil and snacks from a company named Sacha Vida (www.sachavida.com) at the NYC Green Festival in December. The oil was super delicious and I have been using it to make amazing salads and in my smoothies. The snacks are awesome as well, the organic chocolate covered sacha inchi seeds are my favorite. I read online that Clarins is using sacha inchi oil in their creams and I put the oil on my face the other night (I was skeptical but I am a sucker for natural beauty treatments) and I was surprised at how smooth my face was the next morning. Good luck in your quest for learning!
